One Camera for Photos, Movies, and More
Shoot still photos with superb 5.1-megapixel resolution, record MPEGMovie4TV clips in high resolution with compact file size, or use Hybrid Recording Mode to combine still and action clips, saving 5 seconds of video and audio before your still photo, 3 seconds after--a great way to capture fleeting moments. With separate buttons for PHOTO and MOVIE, you can shoot either one in seconds--no need to switch modes on a menu. Advanced circuitry improvements give you brighter images in low-light conditions and reduce "block noise" in solid-color picture areas.

Hybrid Recording Mode

Pocket Album Function
With its high-capacity internal memory, the DSC-M2 lets you store and view up to 1,100 photo images at VGA resolution. It's like carrying a photo album with you, for viewing and sharing anytime--and you can manage your photo album in-camera. Stored photos are saved as thumbnail images sorted by date and year; a simple shuttle key at the side of the camera lens allows smooth browsing and quick search.
Slide Show with Music Playback (Four Prerecorded Tracks)
You can combine shots in Slide Show sequence, pick favorites and delete unwanted photos, use any of three transition effects (normal, slow, quick), and select from four prerecorded music tracks in the camera's internal memory.
Tilt/Swivel 2.5-Inch LCD Screen
An extra-large 2.5-inch LCD screen flips out for shooting, rotates so you can put yourself into the picture (or movie), and folds back flat against the camera body for sharing stills and videos with family and friends.
5.1-Megapixel Super HAD CCD
More megapixels mean more detail and high-resolution definition. Sony's advanced Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD is designed to allow more light to pass to each pixel, increase sensitivity, and reduce noise.
Carl Zeiss 3x Optical/2x Digital Zoom
